Après 30 ans d’existence, le Minitel s’apprête à tirer sa révérence. Les plus jeunes ne verront même pas de quoi il est question, mais ceux qui étaient au collège ou au lycée  dans les années 90 s’en rappelleront peut-être pour avoir recherché dessus leurs résultats aux examens du brevet ou du bac. Le Minitel, ou l’ancêtre d’internet !  Invention 100 % française, le 1er réseau dans l’histoire des télécommunications à permettre la “connexion de terminaux permettant la visualisation de données informatiques” disparaîtra le 30 Juin 2012, et avec lui la machine à l’origine du fameux “36-15″. Définitivement la fin d’une époque.

Le Minitel a familiarisé les Français avec la technologie, à l’idée de réseau et à  la possibilité d’obtenir de l’information via des machines. Ce fût un vrai parti-pris d’aller vers la modernité, à tel point que que le 10 mai 1981,les français découvraient à la télévision le visage du président élu François Mitterrand représenté à la façon d’une image minitel. L’indicatif, le fameux “36 15″ qu’il fallait composer avant tout code de service, est devenu une expression presque populaire à l’origine de nombreuses blagues et sketches.

Et bien sûr, le Minitel aura aussi familiarisé les français avec l’érotisme et les rencontres en ligne… Le 30 juin prochain, Orange fermera définitivement le service et il en sera bel et bien fini du Minitel, du 36 15 Ulla et de ces autres joyeusetés d’un autre temps. Même si en 2010, on comptabilisait encore 2 millions d’utilisateurs…
