Inventée aux États-Unis par le chimiste Peter Schlumbohm dans les années 40, la cafetière Chemex a pour principaux atout sa simplicité de conception et ses matériaux neutres. Inspirée du flacon Erlenmeyer, elle s’est inscrite comme l’un des objets phares du courant artistique Bauhaus. Elle fait partie des collections permanentes de nombreux musées dont le Musée d’Art Moderne de New-York. Un pont entre chimie et coffee.
Invented in the United States by the chemist Peter Schlumbohm in the 40s, coffee maker Chemex’s main asset is its simplicity of design and its neutral materials. Inspired by the Erlenmeyer flask, it is listed as one of the major objects of the Bauhaus art movement. It is part of the permanent collections of many museums including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. A bridge between chemistry and coffee.
